All my MTBer friends have stories about firing coaches because they made them ride on the road too much, and constantly whine about how road riding is some onerous chore and they'd rather be hitting the trails.
In seasons past, CX has really been a side thing for me; I rarely got on the CX bike except to race it. This year, though, I seem to have caught the bug a lot harder. Maybe it's all the mud in the parks in the wake of Tropical Storm Hermine, but 2-wheel drifting around off-camber turns sounds a lot more fun than the road ride I have planned for tonight. Can't blow it off, though; meeting up with some teammates.
Hope you guys are getting excited too!
