I don't have much info on this yet, but I could almost like Johnny Howard if it goes through:

Sounds good to me. Can we also ban car adverts where they ride through uncongested roads, rarely passing another car? :)

Sshh... you might scare him off ;)
I thought it might be the couple of positive posts on certain bikepaths that had done it... Nice to see him though.

Welcome back(??) Chris L.
I told you he wouldn't stay away. BikeForums is addicting. :D

Just out of curiousity Richard, what is the current standard in the UK? I heard that the proposal out here is based on what is already law over there. It seems a lot of car ads out here (I can't totally vouch for this because I rarely watch television) depict people actually breaking the law (speed limits mostly) and generally driving dangerously.
I'd be very interested to have that point clarified.

I just hope it's not too addictive. The truth is that I left when this site was taking up more of my time than it should have. I tried a couple of other forums but they weren't nearly as interesting as this one. :o
I just hope this place is not so addictive that this happens to me again. If that turns out to be the case, I might just sell my computer altogether.
 Good to see you back in here.

I watch very little TV, particularly commercial TV so my experience of car adverts isn't great. Most of them seem to be driving through empty country roads, either here or abroad. Often they appear to be going fast, but then the theoretical speed limit on country roads is way in excess of sensible driving.
Sorry, not a lot of help.
