I have 9 speed Campag on my Roberts, but the cassette is a Miche. I just bought some Nitto Moustache bars and I have a pair of DA 9 speed barcons to go with them. I also have a 9 speed Tiagra cassette, which obviously won't fit on my Veloce hub. Can I drill out the rivets on that cassette, take the spacers and put them in the Miche cassette? I want to know if it's do-able before I buy the cassette lockring tool (BTW, would I need a regular Campag fit or a special Miche one?)

You are correct. I examined the Shimano cassette I have sitting nearby and it is held together with three Allen screws, 1.5 mm. A much more elegant design than riviets.

Huh, pretty sure they're not screws, but my memory ain't what it, er... ah I forget. Anyway, I'll check Sheldon for cog thickness but I don't think he knows.
