I use Specialized Toupe saddle for my road bikes but am not happy with it on my cross bike. I find that if I don't clear the saddle cleanly the end of the saddle is sharp and tends to dig into your thigh and bibs. I think a saddle that is a little more rounded at the back rather than a thin sharp end like the toupe would be preferred. Any suggestions (other than the obvious do it right in the first place)?

Just grab something out of the junk bin at your LBS. Cross races are tough on seats and short enough that comfort shouldn't matter much.

i used the stock crappy seat that came on my bike. it's some low profile, uncomfortable thing, works great for cross
If you like the Toupe then you could try the Phenom also by Specialized. Same shape and design but with more padding and rounded corners. I run Toupe on my road bikes and love the Phenom for my cross bike.
