So I got a White Industries crankset + Freewheel for a sweet deal and now I want to build a SS to compliment my FG. Was looking at the Cinelli Gazzetta but when I contacted Cinelli they informed me these frames won't accept a rear brake :(
Looking for a quality frame under $700 that isn't a leader, Kilo, Surly, BD bike that will accept a rear brake.
It appears as though the Masi Speciale Sprint accepts a rear brake (does it?) but the color is completely unappealing. Thanks for any suggestions ! I prefer steel but wouldn't pass up an AI frame if it was of quality and looked good.

The reason they wont take a rear brake is they are true track bikes. If you want to get a really nice frame like a cinelli you need to understand that at that price range most all of the bikes will not accept rear brakes as they were not made to do so. They are also at that price range almost exclusively made for the track. Im not saying you cant use one on the street because alot of people do, but its going to suck when you dent it and even worse when you wreck it.

But really, why do you want a rear brake? The front brake provides id say 70% of your stopping power.

the reason why I want a rear brake is because I'm throwing a WI crankset on it + freewheel.
