Triathlon - advice on type of bike

I have done a small triatlon (1/10th of ironman) and I consider to buy a bike that I can use for daily transport (10 km per day) AND for small triatlons, probably up to roughly 60km bike. I would like to spend around 800 Eur. I have also tried a sportsbike, the Giant Rapid 2 which I really liked but I am not sure if it is good enough for my needs.

Is any of the two above mentioned good or is there something similar but better, or should I just try to find the best street bike on my budget? If so any specific recommendations?

Does "daily transport" involve carrying any kind of load on the bike itself?

If not, I say get the best (and I mainly look at fit when I say "best") road bike you can afford and you'll be plenty happy.

I agree with you getting more of standard road bike than a triathlon specific bike. But the first bike you linked to is actually just that with a clip on aero bar on it. It would probably do you well for the money as long as your daily transport doesn't require you carry much cargo or have need of fenders as I don't see any provision to attach a rack or fenders.

thanks for advice! I will not normally have extra load on my daily transport. But I think it would be nice to have fenders on and I will try to find a bike that supports them.
