I have a exage LX 500 crank on my 89ish Cannondale sm600. Is the Park Tool CCP 2 the right tool for the removal. Dont want to mess this up I like it alot. Thanks in advance Take care Sky

Thanks I got it on but those crank arms are on tight not moving Ill spray it liquid wrench

Before you do any more, remove the crank puller and check in the openings to see if there are washers inside. You must remove the washers or the puller won't work. If the holes are clear, the required force to pop the crank arms loose may still be quite high.

Thank you washers out got em off with slow steady pull its kinda scary you dont want to strip threads etc. now the lock ring is on tight slot screwdriver wont do it butcher job going to buy proper spanner take care.

+1 Check for washers first. The force to remove some crank arms can be substantial.

Make sure the threads on the tool are well seated into the crankarms, or you risk the tool coming out and the crank threads being stripped.
