Our route takes us from Cahokia (south of the Airport) to the Katy Trail in St. Charles. I found someone's route across St. Louis on Map My Ride. We're hoping it is a good one. We're thinking that day of riding will be a short one and therefore a bit of a rest day for us. In other words we want the trip across St. Louis to be as direct as safe to ride conditions will allow.

Attached is our prospective route. Hey St. Louis riders, what do you think? Is it okay? I know there will be traffic, I can usually deal with it okay, I have ridden through the streets of Seoul, South Korea and some of the other very busy city streets before, so I'm not uncomfortable with busy city riding.

The only part of that trip I'm familiar with is the part right on the river. You go through some others areas that concern me. Especially E. St. Louis. You might try the GORC website. (Gateway off-road cyclists.) There's more local, St. Louis people on that site.
Where you from?

I live up north of St. Louis in a little town called Cuba, IL. We're 40 miles or so west-south-west of Peoria. You feel there are some issues with the E. St. Louis section? ..in that area we were planning to start at first light. Thinking we may be able to get through easier in the wee hours of the morning?

I'll Google the GORC website and see what it brings up. Thanks for the inputs!
