EDIT: im looking for other companies besides velocity that makes deep v and can withstand street riding. i have nothing against velocity, i just want to see what my other options are.
im looking for some wheels with side walls like a deep v but light and good for street use.
are the velocity fusions better than the velocity deep v?

weinmann dp18, velomine.com
I would also like a super light, aero profile rim which is bombproof and will stay true in NYC potholed streets, preferably for under $150 /wheelset.

And I'd like to buy a barely-used Aerospoke for 75 bucks. Oh wait.....

kinlins are light and deep.
I know they're not as deep as cheap-v's, but sun ryno lites are really strong rims. Lace that to a Paul hub with some double butted spokes and you got one hell of a wheel. I skid, hop curbs, and STL has some nasty pot holes, and my 230lb ass hasn't manage to get it to come out of true yet...

Velo deep v's are no where near light. Idk if theres such thing as a light deep v wheel.

IRD Niobium are really light and are kinlin rebrands I think.
i thought american classic hubs have pretty bad reviews. Correct me if i'm wrong, i never rode one. Just rumors on teh internez
anyway. Light, deep, and budget friendly is to build ur own :D Using Kinlin rims and White Industry hubs laced with sapim cx-rays, you can build a wheelset about 1500g under $500.

i thought there were other ones but i can't find it right now. I'm interested to know what others have to say since I was originally considering them for a wheel build.

the hardware is not top quality but, the hubs themselves are good.

My wheelset from ebay takes quite a beating and I have no problems with them. They are Yeah Wheels. They came with tires tubes and a cog for like $170 and they are 43mm like an H+son or B-43. they have cheap hubs but the bearings are pretty smooth. They are pretty light too for a deep profile wheel. Here is a link for them

He also has 50mm wheelset too

Ive seen those "yeah" wheels on ebay before too, but couldn't find a single review or comment on them. But that price w/ cogs, tires, and tubes just sounded way too fishy to me.

They are actually not too bad for the price. Like I said mine have a lot of hard miles on them and I have had no problems.
kinlin / ird, period. deepest ones are 30mm.
i have nearly 10k on a set and they look like the day i got them. mine are basic black, but they can be had in all kinds of hipster/fixie colors these days.
bomber strong, and light enough given the depth...30mm are about 490g.
the hardware is not top quality but, the hubs themselves are good.
aha.
