Southern California - Man down of GRR
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

http://glendoramtnroad.blogspot.com/ Scroll down to story. I met Ray, along with others Monday night on top of GMR. He was right behind Brian last Friday when the accident happened. He was able to fill in details, and it seems it was just that, a terrible accident. He said it took 2 hours for medical help to arrive, mainly because of the remote location, there was no cell coverage. This is just a reminder that when out on GMR/GRR, you are at times really out there. Just because you carry a cell doesn't mean you will get a call out. Ride safe, at all times. I don't know Brian, but even though we are all up there for different reasons, we are all up there for the same reasons too, and I feel like I know him in that respect. Keep him in your thoughts, and again, ride safe. :50:

I'm sorry to hear that, here's to a complete recovery...
Also, there is SPOT. For some people it's worth the investment.

That SPOT satellite messenger service would be a great gift idea for those who do the local mountains.

A rider was involved in an accident while we were up there. I belive it was DutchBoy that found it possible to text message even without the ability to make a call. FYI
