I have a 2004 Bianchi Brava - IT comes stock with a Sora Triple front derailleur and a sugino rd 3000t triple with 52-42-30. In the rear is a Sora rear derailleur and an sram 12-26 8 speed.

I am interested in switching to a 48-38-26 in the front while minimizing the cost and effort to do so.

I think my two best options are T.A. "ramped and pinned" chainrings (available @ peter white or harris cyclery) or Salsa "non-ramped" chainrings. Both are available.

1) Can anyone confirm that the sora changers can handle a 48-38-26 in the front, without changing anything else?
2) Will there be a noticeable difference between the ramped TA middle and outer chainrings and the plain old salsa chaingrings?
3) Is there a better way to do this?
