First stage to Zabel yesterday. It was hard to find a rider in the top 25 or more that was not Spanish (which is probably due to the venue).

ITT today for stage 2.

Cheers...Gary

Zabel wins the first section of the second stage (106 Km), then loses overall after the ITT later in the day.

Simoni crashed out hard, but with no apparent serious damage to his knee, which took the brunt.

Yes, Zabel is strong at the moment. Itīs a pitty for him, he could have won his 5th Primavera....

Stage three: Out of the mist at the top of the Coll de Pal emerged ... Guerini and Mercado, who takes the overall lead.

Rain, snow, mist - a great day! ;)

Gmason,

Go ahead and rub it in. :(
Here in the states all we get is
the reruns of last years TdF, and this years
Giro, TdF, and Veulta.
I really wish US tv (or canadian for that matter) would
give more coverage to cycling.
Thank you for providing the updates
I for one appreciate it.

Marty

Well, I actually thought about the rubbing in stuff, but figured that you would rather hear the results.

Unfortunately, I will be back in CONUS the week of April 8, so will miss the Ronde de Vlaanderen and the Paris-Roubaix! I am mildly upset.

Cheers...Gary

Perdiguero wins stage 4, with Zabel trying, but unable to take up the last bike length over the last 100 meters or so for second. Mercado holds the overall by about 15 seconds.

Pereira wins the final stage (second for Phonak in this race). Mercado and Guerini finish one and two overall. Rainy and five degrees = pretty nasty.
