Who's with me?
'Cause I thought they kicked ass.
Tasted just like the sea, grit and all.
Damn that was good stuff.

No thanks, although that's a colorful dish.

Got any wrens' livers?

Escargot. Snails without shells = slugs.

Tasty. Very tasty.

Yum - love the raw but I'd go for some smaller oysters though - heh - have a one swallow with minumum chew (not that I don't like them - but I've had some monsters that were a little big ... )

Honestly :D

But as for snails? Allllll mine - garlic and oil sauce with bread ---- escargot - yum!!!!!!!!

< edit > I have minimal restaurants here who do a good fresh oyster, clams all I want - but it's the oyster. I rather miss my trips to CA-Long Beach where I had some great stuff.

I had to pick the little black ones out with a pin.
The whelks were the best though.

It all looks great. :DI haven't had French seafood that looks that good since I was in Marseilles and Paris.

Never had a whelk. Are they similar to a snail?

Yes. They are in a little conch shell.

YUM!! But unfortunately I'll never see them here ... I'll keep them in mind for a West Coast adventure!

Yep. Those two silver things were different sized forks used for pulling them out of their shells; whelks are about the size of your pinkie.

You just pull the shoulder carapace off of the krill, hold them by the tail and eat them legs and all. They have a soft shell.

OK, you lost me there :D I thought they were snail like critters - but little legs like spiders? hmmmmm But wth - I'd still try them :D

Pray they're cooked well, parasites abound in the little critters. As for the rest of your dish, you do live dangerously it seems! Some of the most volatile group illness i have seen was from bad mussels. Ech. The fact I used them as bait doesn't help either.

Of course, there is much praise to be heaped upon a good pizza....

They are snail like critters, I was talking about the little shrimpie things (not the big shrimp thing) next to them (krill/prawn--I really don't know)

And the little black ones are periwinkles.

The giant shrimp is a prawn and the little ones are Antarctic Krill.

can I go ahead and puke now, or do I have to eat a slug first?

So that is what the bucket they gave me was for.
Silly me, I put the shells in it.

Mint sir, it's only wafer thin.

It always pains me greatly, to see someone using that tasty stuff, for bait..........
