Hybrid Bicycles - Can you post pictures on BF straight from your Files ?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Obliviously I know how to link YouTube videos, but have never figured out how to post
just pictures from your own gallery, without having to upload to like Photobucket and then
post a link, can you just insert a photo from your own gallery ? if so how..:crash: Richard

use the 'go advanced' and there's an 'insert image button', the one just to the right of the envelope w/ what I think is a tree on it? Then you can upload it and it will appear.

You can insert any image directly from your PC.:thumb:
Just click on the Manage attachments tool under Additional Options.
Then follow the instructions to Add Files, Browse your PC for the image and upload to BF.

That is what I get too, on the iPad I am using right now. The second method works fine from a Windows box, I use it all the time. But it doesn't work on the iPad either. So it may depend on your computer and OS.

Picture from yesterday's ride. I had to crop the photo twice to make the file small enough to be accepted. I'm sure I could have compressed the image rather than crop it, but that would take me some figuring out. If your having problems though, your file size might be too big.

Windows 7 on a mini net-book, once I got used to the small screen, I would not trade it for anything. 250 HD and 2 gig ram, I upgraded it from 1 gig.
beats carrying that 17" beast I was using...Richard

I use tinypic to upload pictures to and then I link 'em.
I recommend using a toughbook with touchscreen and UMTS antenna when on the road, but I'm lucky enough to have one from the company as they are very expensive.

I've got a HUGE W7 laptop at home. As much as I hate to praise Microsoft, or Apple anymore, W7 seems to work quite well. I only use the laptop around the house so the size is generally an asset. On the road I would want something smaller. Anyway I am typing this at work on an XP box. If I hit "Go Advanced" and then click on that little picture icon I just get a dialog box asking for a URL of the picture. If I don't click "Go Advanced" and instead stay in the "Quick Reply" mode I can click on that picture icon and get a dialog box with two tabs, one for entering a URL, the other for browsing to a file on my hard drive. The method that FlatSix mentioned does work from the Advanced mode text editor. If you see an image below it was entered from the Quick Reply editor using the image icon. If you don't see it then that method is not working for me either.
