In Palos Verdes, on the northbount descent of Hawthorne there's this sculpture on a stone pillar in front of an apartment building. I suspect that the demented person who put it there is a cyclist him(her)self.

Notice the shoes -- apparently after this "incident" they peeled the cyclist off the bike and left his shoes.

Hawthorne can be a pretty speedy descent. This could be interpreted as a warning....

Ravenspur intersects Hawthorne at two places. This is at the northern-most intersection of Hawthorne & Ravenspur.

A brave soul! He musta gotten up to near 50 mph.
A hazard on this descent is the stop lights. If their transition to red is timed right, it can be a challenge to stop a road bike in time without losing traction.
