I suspect my Park Tools floor pump w/ gauge has a problem...

Can't get a good seal and accurate, stable PSI reading when inflating my presta valves anymore.

At first, I thought it was the bent valve stem tip.. but I've ruled that out... At low psis everything is fine, but then it starts leaking from the bad seal and the psi just drops and I keep on pumping fast and have to guess by feel when my tire is good.....

I always felt that the threads on the stems were kind of rough on the pump nozzle when inserting.. I think it damaged the whole seal thing by now.

Can I replaze just the nozzle on the pump? or could the problem be something else?

Send it back to Park and they will give you a new one or repair it. I work for a touring company from time to time and we send back two or three a year. It is still the best pump we have used. Roger

Oh thanks!!! I definitely will! But the problem as I described, seems to be on the pump for sure?

This is why some pumps that are meant to last forever (Medai, Silca, et al) have commonly available replacement parts.

I'm not sure which pump you have, but Park offers a service kit and instructions for rebuilding a their pumps.

The head of my Park pump is hard to separate from the presta stem at times. I squirt a little silicone lube into the head to reduce the friction. Also, I'm using some Michelin tubes that only have a few threads at the tip to capture the stem cap. The majority of the body is smooth and unthreaded, and it has no provision for the little locking nut (which is not a problem). These pump heads removes itself from the pressure once the locking lever is released...nice!
