I have plans to be their and ride but my daughter and I normally only do about 75 miles. It is a good ride.

I will be there. The group says they will keep the pace steady (heard that one before) and we will be going for 100 miles. Usually a good ride on that trail. Won't find many century rides with a flatter profile. Drafting is my friend. :)

Mark, what group you riding with? Suncoast Cycling?

I hear you about drafting. We just did the full Suncoast Trail and plan to do it again in a few weeks if you're interested.

Yes, I normally ride with Suncoast Cycling, but this ride I am going with a small group that I ride with during the week. Another of my friends regularly rides the Suncoast Trail, plus Starkey Park, for solo centuries. :) Nice riding there too and that is where I do my weekday night rides. We are blessed to have some good trails in this area.

I won't be riding it. As far as I am concerned, it is the finest century for beginning century riders that I know of. If someone is looking for a first century, this one is the best in the area. The support is superb, the facilities are good and most of the time, you don't have to fool with cars.

Looks interesting - please post a lot of pictures so I can see what the trails look like!

Mark, we've probably ridden together since I frequent the Suncoast, Starkey Park trails on evening rides. Usually ride Tues, Wed, Thurs from Suncoast 54 and either go to Shady Hills or Starkey Park and back. Leaving in a few for the Starkey ride. Meetup is at 6pm if you care to join us.

Had a great ride on Sunday. Weather was very nice, first ride in a long time where the starting temp was in the 60's. Rode with a group of 8 and picked up others along the way. My first century! Ride time 5:35 and finished feeling very good. A lot of riders on the trail made parts of the ride a bit 'tight', but other than that it was a great day.

Hope others made it out too. I was proudly wearing my BikeForums 50+ jersey.

Yes, weather was great and the sags were well organized. It was a bit congested in areas, but not more than expected. We had a group of about 20, but 5 of us split off. I went with a group that had a goal of under 5 hrs and managed to hang with them. My pulls on the last 30 miles into the headwind got progressively shorter. We had a few strong riders in this small group which helped the group achieve this goal. Was a great ride and a great day.

If interested, we are doing the entirel Suncoast Trail on Sunday, Oct 10 - another thread started to see if anyone is interested in joining. It will not be a hammerfest - probably about 20 mph avg.
