Hi, Folks! I'm looking for information. I want to assemble a bike that will do well on both pavement and off road. I will most likely be using it for on on-road then off but I still like to hit the woods every now and again. What I'm looking for at the moment is an unfinished bike frame and then I'll start buying the parts to assemble the entire machine. I want light weight and durability. Cost is not a big issue but I don't think I want to pay $2000 just for a frame... get what I'm sayin'? This bike will be used a great deal and I want something that will get me through Grad School and then across the Country. Any info or ideas will be appreciated. If I didn't explain my needs well enough please let me know so we can get this figured out. Thanks, Folks.

Aaron

I am thinking you need two bikes.
Buying a complete new bike is less expensive than building one, unless you go with used parts.
Craiglist is a good site for used.
