So, after debate....I got the Kilo TT chrome stripper, it was really the only model in a 55 in stock, truth is its really grown on me.
Im building this one up and them in a while switching frames, but its too soon to talk about that, here is the bike.
I've swapped out to the following parts,
Nitto Noodle bar
All-City crankset
All-City pedals and cages
Brooks seat
Still want to upgrade wheels and switch to a threaded headset and quill stem, but Ill wait a couple of months for that.
Thanks again!

Looks awesome, I always love chrome bikes. No handlebar tape though?

And why is it that new SSFG riders always want to switch to threaded. It is inferior and a giant hassle. Why would you spend so much effort and money on something that will reduce the performance of your bike.

It's all about...

I have threaded with the threadless adaptor just like you, I kind of wish I have a threadless set up all together...but then, I'd need a lot of spacers, head tube is a tad too short for me.

Uh oh.. Another threaded/threadless debate. But I have to ask, why would the type of headset reduce the performance of the bike?

I think he means why would he thread a threadless fork/steerer, threading a threadless fork will make the threaded steerer more brittle. It is extremely time consuming for shops to start new threads rather than chase threads on a threaded fork.

Now it makes sense... I would never thread a threadless fork either. I was assuming he was planning on getting a new fork.

hey guys, its a learning process right, Im not willing to thread this fork, I'm also not getting a new one. Dont knock me, as I stated Im willing to see whats the deal.
As far as for no tape, I do like tape, just didnt find any at the LBS that I liked, choices are rather limited in Brownsville....Im thinking about harlequin cloth wrap in this case.
mang slap some thooper thweet purple ano'd deep v's on dat
Apple green fizik, it's the only way.

Okay, well thanks for being reasonable. But here is what the deal is, a lot of new riders get into SSFG because of how they look, which is fine. However, they often by the Kilo and want to switch to a threaded headset, which is pretty costly, considering you may need a new fork or at least have it threaded, a new headset, and then a new stem. In doing this you are losing performance in your bike because threadless systems are much stiffer and if you're going to be changing bars at all, it's a hell of a lot easier. There is an old thread around here somewhere with a bunch of pictures of good looking threadless stems. Maybe try looking for that.
Or just jam a quill stem into your threadless steerer and crank on the expander bolt. What's the worst that could happen?

I cant say that I got into fixed/single for the look of it, I could do alot of things for the look of it. Truth is I've ridden mountain bikes for a while now, and when I wanted to ride on the street I would ride my mountain bike.
I got tired of it and decided to try an entry level road bike to see if it was to my liking, I LOVE IT
So its not for the look, as in Brownsville I'm probably one of the very limited that actually know what the bikes are, but I dont want my bike to look like ****, we all like nice stuff right?
