You are trying to figure out how to be at your nieces first baby shower at the same time you are supposed to be at a car show, showing your car, two hours away.
Car show starts at 10, baby shower starts at noon.

If you're talking about the show that is in my backyard, I'd offer to show your car for ya . . . j/k =)

This is the one coming Oct 10th. Got the sways put on, finally tested them. Was planning on either coilovers or springs before the show. And custom hand painted accents...;)
The one in your back yard is 8 hours from me. Will find out today if I'm still going. Got a spare bedroom?

Aren't baby showers universally, you know, lame as hell?
Car shows. Aren't they, you know, pretty kick ass?
How is this even up to question?

This. Everyone knows cars > family anyways. :P

This is the only car show ever. You've known everyone there all of their lives, and your lack of presence would make everyone there very sad.
Meanwhile, your niece will be having the same baby biannually for the rest of your life, and it makes no real difference to this stranger if you're there or not. Besides, it's just a baby.

My daughter's in the ICU and I'm trying to figure out a way to get in a bike ride tomorrow. So I guess you'd consider my priorities screwed up?

I'd consider that saving your sanity so you can be there for your family.

Ride to the hospital? Get some lights and ride after visiting hours?

You know you've got your priorities screwed up when...
You live in a run-down mobile home, you barely are able to afford food, your taste in interior decorating is beer bottle labels pasted to the walls, but you can always afford to equip the place with state-of-the-art cable TV and satelite that's always in perfect condition.
Now that is really screwed up

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Endorphines are required during times of stress.

Not a bad idea but "post-ride sweaty" is not the way I want to visit her.
Heading down there now for the evening.

Go to the car show. You're niece is sure to squirt out another baby later on. You can go to the shower then.
Unless there is another car show, of course.

If there was any doubt in the Snuggie's power to pull quality chicks . . . Doubt no more, my friends. j/k =)
Me, I woulda pitched a large vendors tent at the car show and let your niece have her babyshower there. Then you can have the best of both worlds. Have a large tip jar for the mother-to-be. It's a win win!

Ok...got my ride in...heading for the hospital all bright and cheery, filled with endorphines.

Squirt out is definitely not something I've heard referring to having a baby. I shall now start using this, thank you.

Having had a baby, I can truthfully attest that they do not "squirt" out. 31 hours of labor, thank you very much.
Go to the car show at 10 with the intention of only staying for a few minutes and then driving to your niece's shower. Absentmindedly lose your car keys. Call your niece and tell her the bad news. Make the best of things and enjoy the car show. At the end of the car show, find your car keys. Oh, how ironic, they were right there the whole time.
