Hello Everyone
I'm twenty years old and have been riding bikes for about 5 years now. I started out riding road bikes in Orange County, CA and have just recently moved up to San Francisco for school (riding partners wanted). I started out on a specialized allez that my dad got for me at the swap meet and put thousands of miles on it. Then upgraded to an Orbea Orca about 3 years ago which was a nice change to say the least. Around the same time, I started to get interested in ss/fg. I most recently rode an IRO angus, and before that, an old leader road bike conversion that I acquired through craigslist. I used to ride ~150-200 miles a week when I was living at home. Also really familiar with riding in groups and packs but never really got into racing or anything like that.
The sad part is that I couldn't bring any of my bikes up to SF with me :( BUT I just bought my first mountain bike off craigslist! Trails and places to ride off-road are plentiful up here in the bay area compared to SoCal (at least I think so) so I decided to change it up a bit. Now I will be riding a Bianchi DISS with a bunch of aftermarket upgrades and brand new avid BB7's!
I'M LOOKING FOR RIDING PARTNERS IN SF AND THE BAY AREA (MTB). I HAVE A CAR SO I DON'T MIND DRIVING TO RIDE. NOT LOOKING FOR A BABYSITTER OR A TEACHER/INSTRUCTOR, JUST SOMEONE THAT I CAN LEARN THE ROPES FROM. PLEASE PLEASE PM ME, I AM DOWN TO RIDE ALMOST ANY TIME!
Also, how do people get into mountain biking? Road biking is easy; you open your door and there are roads and you ride wherever you want. Mountain Biking seems a little more complicated to me. How do you find trails? How do you know which routes to take when you get to the actual trail heads?
Anyways, that is all for now
