My wife and I will be traveling to Asheville, NC next week for a week long vacation. We will be bringing our road bikes and are planning to venture out on the Blue Ridge Parkway (I'm pumped because this will be our first cycling vacation). Besides the usual touriest stops (i.e., the Biltmore), are there any other must do things while we are there? Also, does anyone know of any bike shops, group rides, other riding spots, etc. that we should be sure to check out while we are there? Thanks for the help.

Next week isn't the most ideal time for the BRP - leaf season is starting. There is plenty of other good riding.

Check out our food places, the art studios, Bed and Breakfasts, architecture, historic neighborhoods, and festivals that are going on. Not sure how far our you want to go from Asheville, but surround towns offer lots as well.
