Fifty Plus (50+) - Plus 50 Jerseys

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I rode with a gal wearing the red/black Plus 50 jersey. I would love to order one along with vest, etc. Is this still possible?
Thanks!

The ordering for those jerseys is a magical moment that has slipped past me so far. Keep checking often. they are a much sought ofter shirt.
They're completely unofficial. A forum member designed them and takes orders once or twice a year.
You'll have to keep your eyes open for the next time. Which is a perfect excuse to become a regular here! ;)

cccorlew (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?75749-cccorlew) does this out of the kindness of his heart. He designed the jersey (and pants and jacket and long sleeve) and takes orders every now and then.
It is a lor of work for which he gets no payment/

Plus, in addition to looking great, they are very comfortable and are admired by other cyclists, young and old alike!

We both coveted her jersey on Saturday. Hope both of us can get one next time they are available.

The cool thing about the jersey is that they have a full zipper, so you can look TdF cool riding up the mountain pass on a hot day with the jersey undone and flapping to each side! Then as you approach the summit, you take your hands off the bars, slide your fingers down the edge of each zipper, then join the bottom edges together and zip the jersey all the way up for the cold descent!
Full zip jerseys are the only way to go. I can't believe there are clubs that still order the old fashioned jerseys with the zippers that only go down six or eight inches. I refuse to buy those old jerseys anymore!

I usually try to put together an order once or twice a year. For those new here, here's the story:
I need to get a minimum of about a dozen to hit the order minimum. I have people paypal me in advance, then worry I've skipped town with their cash.
It takes longer than you can imagine to get them to you once you pay.
So, those posting, weigh in. Do you think there are a dozen jersey buyers out there now, in these troubled economic times as we head into the off-season? Should I do an order?

I am not allowed to buy any more jerseys until at least five of them fall apart of their own accord.
But that's not happening. It seems to me that good quality bike jerseys last for ever -- the only one I ever got rid of was one that I gave away. (It was very nice, but a notch or two too small)

No one has discussed price yet? How much are we talking. I'd be one of the dozen if it's affordable. PG

I've considered this the last two times, but kept thinking I have too much bike gear. I seem to remember they were reasonably priced (but not cheap). Now I'm ready, so count me in (+1 on the full zip!). Do I make the 12th?

What will the cut be? Mine was a bit too snug for my liking and it was supposed to be the looser fit.
I am definitely on the buy list.

I'm 69, and please count me in for a jersey. Jack

Add me to the list. I am jersey-less, because I've felt a jersey was one step away from shaving my legs. Have to take the plunge sometime, and it's either a 50+ jersery or a Poseur jerser. I'll go for 50+
I'll take 2, full zip, if the come in xxl.
I don't use PP, please tell me where to send the $$$

It comes in XXL. In the past these jerseys have been cut small. I first ordered a XL - almost all my other jerseys are XL, and it ended up with my wife. The next order, I ordered a XXL, which fits fine.
I would definatly order one. THink you will be doing this soon?
Should I give you my email so you can contact me?
I would like to order one!

OK. This is the INTEREST thread. In the next couple of days I'll post an order thread with way too much info on how to order.
Ok, I found the PM area first, so shoot me!
I would love one of these to flaunt in Melbourne, the cycling capital of Australia.

Curtis,
Thank you very much for taking this task on once again. My wife and I love the 50+ jerseys. I realize this is a big task that you do for us and we all appreciate the efforts. You make this forum what it is...... a great place to meet with other 50+ riders!
I am patiently awaiting the order thread in the next few days/weeks, whatever you can work out.

In my brief cycling "career" I've affirmed there is a Big difference between the just +50s and those who are further down the road at +65. With that in mind is there a possibility of a +65 jersey?
Come to think of it since the speed limit on many highways is 65 a +65 jersey on an elder might be a conversation starter that would give us a chance to encourage others to join in?

Not meaning to be a smart fart but if those of you that would like a jersey with say 65 plus or any other age get in touch with Curtis and find out how he does it and go from there. If there is interest then it should be pretty easy to get enough for an order. I really don't think its fair to ask or complain to Curtis to take on extra types of jerseys since he kinda started this on a lark and it went through the roof. I hope I haven't offended anyone but I think in fairness to a guy that has gone out of his way to do this it needed to be said.
