Commuting - rist time cross country bike ride need advice

hello everybody.i bought my first road bike a year ago and now im hooked.
i want to go to from san fransisco bay to southern california down hwy 1.
stopping every once ina while im going to be camping out for about 1 week.
im going with two friends and its also their first time.
-what tools should i bring?
-how should i rig up my bike to support weight evenly?
-im going to be rollin a fixed gear/ss on a motobecane super mirage:thumb:

I've read it. Never done it myself. Maybe in a year or two.
Must have tools: pump or co2, tubes, patch kit, extra chain links, multi-tool that has 5, 6mm hex wrench, screwdriver, chaintool
I don't think the moto super mirage is drilled to take a front rack. There's a rack on amazon that mounts onto forks without braze on. Do a google search for it. I've read that some panniers like Orlieb don't fasten too well on this though. Maybe you might want to get a new fork that is drilled for a front rack? Try getting a low rider rack not the top mount one. Lower center of gravity is best for handling.
You want to distribute weight about 60% in the back and 40% in the front.
