Hello,
I recently sold some shimano RX100 components on eBay recently and am currently in dispute with the buyer who not happy with how I advertised the groupset. I advertised the components as an "RX100 groupset" although the front derailluer is an Exage 400EX, which fact I omitted not thinking it would cause the fuss it has. All the components are off the same bike including the brake callipers which were also Exage 400EX, which I sold privately.
I really didn't think it would make much difference as the front mech was in very good condition, in better condition than the rear RX100 mech and the RX100 levers. But the buyer is adamant that I misadvertised the groupset. You can however clearly see from the picture in the auction the model numbers of all the components so how this escaped the buyers notice I'm not sure. You can have a look at the listing here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180557679025&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT
Any comments on this situation would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

Well, if I bought a Shimano Ultegra groupset and some of the components were 105, I'd be upset. You may not have done it intentionally, but it was misrepresented. Maybe the guy is trying to restore an old bike he has to original spec. Yeah RX100 is like Tiagra (a step below 105) and may not be "race-worthy" but he payed for something and didn't get it. You even admit it was a mistake. I side with the buyer.

Sorry, I have to side with the buyer on this one.

Good afternoon,
I went and looked at the listing and this changed my opinion, if it were a groupset as normally undertstood, then it may not have been too bad.
As it was just the front mech, rear mech and DT Shifters, I too side with buyer.
I take your point about the photo, I can see that the the front mech is 400, but it does take a fair degree of concentration and as there are only three items it does seem to me to be misleading to sell them as RX100 when 33% aren't.
I see that you have two other negative feedbacks from buyers, on only a handful of sales, doesn't this suggest to you that you are doing something badly? :-)
Bye

im on the move a lot and do much of my ebaying via smart phone. i understand the importance of looking at the pictures carefully but something like this should have been listed in the description.
depending on the build, i would have been upset had i purchased this. when i built my tommasini i selected nearly every component for a reason. i even "down rated" the record group so the bike would fit my vision for the build and my personal preferences.
incedently, i have a frameset that came stock with full rx100. i have had thoughts of restoring it and this purchase would have upset me. i would offer the buyer a rebate or full refund.

You should resolve it in the buyers favor: 1) refund including shipping after he sends them back, 2) refund for just FD ..... 3) discount to compensate for different FD ..... whatever ............
Why did you even put the word "groupset" in the title ?
With 2 negs, I would not buy from you.
I sold a cassette to someone in Brazil, and I accidentally sent him the wrong one. It cost some money to fix it, and I lost money on the deal .... but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Agree with everyone here. You've got to be very, very detailed in your descriptions. Posting something as an entire groupset of a certain level is asking for trouble if the parts are not all the same. As you've found out. I did something similar to this long ago and the buyer was upset about it so we worked something out. I ended up giving him back some money and he gave me a good feedback because of it. In my case it was just I didn't know. In your case, it appears to be deception. If that's true or not, only you'll know.

Buyer. It's clear in the photos, but a newb like myself may not notice that and may even think that there is just different writing on the unit. I'd be upset.
