Southwest - Visiting Albuquerque in Nov/Dec...where to ride?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Actually three questions.
1) Should I bring my mountain bike or road bike?
2) Is there a good shop in town to ship my bike to?
3) Most importantly: Where should I ride? (MTB or road)
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm from Roswell, about 190 mi. sse of Albuquerque. I haven't done much riding up there, but I know that it is a very bicycle friendly area and there's lots of good cycling for both road and mtb. Also quite a few pretty decent shops. I'm sure this link will be very helpful http://nmcycling.org/. The site contains lots of information about clubs and rides in the area.
Happy cycling!

I just got into abq myself. I heard there are lots of riders and good roads just east of the city in the Sandia mountains area. I have yet to check it out. I'll try to get out there this weekend and see what it looks like.

There are a bunch of rides here: http://pages.swcp.com/~nmts/
For a shop in town I like cycle cave: http://www.cyclecave.com/ It's literally a mom and pop shop, good people.
