Foo - Run away to Fiji!

OK, I think I'm going to sell everything I own and run away to Fiji. Anyone want to join me?

When I was younger this guy who really REALLY liked me knew that my dream was to go to Fiji. So he bought us tickets and accommodations for two weeks. This wasn't my boyfriend or anything, he was a guy who had a HUGE crush on me.

Needless to say, as much as I wanted to go on the trip, I didn't go.

I've got dibs on the row just in front of the row that's beside the emergency exit. You know the one, the only row that has seats that don't recline. Then make sure the guy in front of me reclines their seat well before the seat belt sign goes off so that the infinitely tiny TV screen is inches from my face. Then make sure I sit beside the gassy guy who insists on talking to me through the whole flight.

On second thought I'll pass.

I think I'd prefer Samoa or Tonga. more stable government. same tropical paradise.

hehe - this reminds me of a thread in another forum I'm in - and it's posted by a "different" kind of spammer. Funny part about it was that the mod left it going, and the residents had fun with it --- and spammer answered back.

Preface: Supposedly from Russia (or something like that), doesn't "speak" English well and is looking for people to come visit him on an uninhabited island called Oceania.

Been there. It was nice. The people were very nice, but then this was during the Rugby World Cup and as our plance was on approach the US was trainling Fiji by 6 points and scored to cut that to 1 and then missed the conversion which would have won for the US. They loved us! (To be fair I'm sure they would have been just as nice if the US had won, Rugby is huge in Fiji and as a touring side they loved us). Only there for a day.

I would advise anyone wanting to go to Fiji to get there in hte next few years. My grandparents went to Hawaii before it became a huge tourist trap. Grandma put together a presentation on it which I saw. When I was in Fiji I felt like I had seen it before, then I figured out it was it reminded me of that presentation. I think if it stays stable Fiji may become the next great tourist trap. Get there first.

I'll pass, too many people and not enough farms. I want to run away to Iowa or Kansas.
