Introductions - A fond thank-you to the BF members for advice.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I decided to become a cyclist in a serious sense about a year and a half ago, and purchased a reasonable bike that required some mods and work. I had to do a bit of a learning curve and still have a few things to get on, like learning to build wheels.
I just wanted to say> thanks for your opinions and advice, I'm very pleased with my bike, and the fact I did most of the re-build myself. BF was my major information source and I was able to talk to my bike mech and explain complex questions.
My backround is in visual arts etc and the mechanical aspect of some parts of the bike I had to bug you fellows for info on simple stuff.
Thanks for your time and advice. It really helped.

Ride on.

Good to hear you found the forums usefull! I know some of the OT's get bugged by newbie questions but I once had an old college prof that made the comment "The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked". That is something I stick to and I encourage our 4-H kids to do the same.
