My Faze is 29.0 lbs.

It has seriously heavy wheels and cranks. 26-27 lbs is easily doable.

Just shy of 180 with me sitting on it.

Unless I have the ride-to-work pack with the laptop and stuff.

185 for that.

So why is mine so heavy? 39 lbs (per bathroom scale method).

Giant Reign 2 frame built with a variety of light/heavy parts, based on how I ride and what I end up upgrading/downgrading to after breaking, etc.

I think my Marzocchi 55 R fork alone weighs 6+ lbs.

I'm going to estimate my 1997 Fuji MX-200 at about what yours is ? Only in the next few days I'll use the outdoor grocery store scale at Publix. My friends Micargi cruiser was 38 lbs on that scale and just from the pick up method I know mine's close to that, both are hi-ten steel. Method works the same way I think you did it, I weigh myself and then me holding the bike and subtract my weight. Gawd I hope it's not that much ?

Other bikes: Vilano SS/FG 26 lbs with 2.5 lb u-lock on it, so it's 23.5 lbs. 1986 Fuji Allegro road bike is 26.7 lbs per their brochure.

Edit: Pleasantly surprised with the weigh in, Fuji MX-200, 31 lbs with 2.5 lb u-lock, puts it at 28.5 lbs. At first I thought being 10 lbs lighter is a good thing, then I researched your frameset, glad I don't have shock absorbers on mine.

Never weighed them. When I'm finally down under 8% body fat then I will lighten them up . Til then I've got no business call my bikes fat... Stocky maybe but not fat!

I have two 29ers:

2009 Turner Sultan 28.42 lbs.
2009 Fuji Tahoe SL 27.65 lbs.

Southpaws
10-22-10, 11:40 AM
2004 Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo, 27 lbs. according to the bathroom scale (don't have anything else), without any extra junk. I'm a bit disappointed.

I really thought the ZR9000 frame was supposed to be a "lighter". :P

My old steel 1994 HKEK was definitely at least 5 pounds heavier.

After seeing a cruiser come in at 38 lbs, then reading some bikes that are newer era technology and being well above 30 lbs, my 1997 Fuji MX-200 is just fine by me at 29 lbs. Hi-Ten and steel cranks, imagine putting aluminum on it, not that what I have is in any need of replacement ? Granted it doesn't have suspension, but that's the beauty of this old bike, it's a fun ride and is virtually maintenance free.

I'm really surprised at mine. I weighed it brand new and it came in at less than 24 lbs. Now according to Bikepedia my 2004 weighs the same as the 1994 at 27. Something ain't right there.

My HKEK must be getting old and fat. Either that or shop rats shoveled a few pounds of dirt into the down tube.

I got 29 for the ht and 27 for the ss 29er. Im taking the tora off the ht and replacing it with a solid carbon fork so that sheds 3.5 pounds so I got 26.5. Not too bad for $800

My giant anthem x2 that weighs 25.5 pounds in riding condition (saddle bag, cages, etc).

That 22 pound anthem looks pretty sweet.

My 05 Specialized Epic Comp (with some mild component changes) is mid 25-low 26 lbs depending on which wheelset I throw on it. The Leader hardtail LD-516H I built up as a beater with mostly LX components, old-ish Marzocchi fork, and bontrager/xtr wheels come in at 25.25 lbs. Both are small/15".
