Here I am, in the middle of Missouri, going to school at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

I guess I started riding within the last two years. I'm not very educated in the bike world. No worries, I don't let it stop me from making mistakes. These forums and YouTube videos were a world of help when I built -- OK, assembled -- my single-speed. My other bike is a Jamis standard commuter bike.

For now, I'm caught up in the sexiness and simplicity of the single-speed/fixed-gear world. In time, I'm sure I'll branch out. I already want to put a cassette on my single-speed to make it 3- or 5-speed. All in due time.

In May (2011) I graduate college. At this point, I have no idea what I'll do next. I'd love to learn more about the cycling world, of course. Between school and work, my energy/time is limited. But I'll make an effort.

With that said, here's a shot (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_aiqqRpcZIDw/TEFV2a54daI/AAAAAAAAALw/vnwViYhuU_8/s1600/IMG_3773.JPG) of my single-speed. I call her Firetruck because I do have an interest in becoming a firefighter. She's simple, speedy and requires little maintenance.

Looking forward to spending tons of time on these forums.
