Found this bike on craigslist. Asking for my brother since he's looking for a cheap commuter.
I searched and couldn't find any reviews on the bike. So far, all i know is that its sold on sgvbicycles.com for $300 new. (obviously i wouldnt buy the craigslist bike for $350 but if i could talk him down i'd consider buying it.

That is going for $300. I think the one in that Craigslist add is better.

It does have some basic upgrades like the lights and a bell maybe some other things too who knows. From the pics of course its hard to say for sure, but it doesn't look like anything too special. You might be able to do better even though I hear prices are high for bikes in that area depending on what hewants. What kind of bike is he looking for? Cheap commuter is pretty broad. =)

I bought the coaster brake version from Junky Rusty Bikes in Long Beach, CA. Had
it set up with a Sturmey Archer S2C kickback hub Weinmann wheelset I sourced from
the same shop.
Its a great ride, no problems so far. The bike is probably from one of the Taiwan manufacturers but its a no-name brand. Can't find any reviews on it on the Internet.

6 spreed freewheels are very friction shifting friendly, as the space between the cogs is bigger.
adding cogs has only made the gaps tighter and shifting fussier
Its the ratios not how many 'gears' , happily toured for decades on a 14 -34 t 6 speed freewheel .
Have a folding bike now with 6 speeds ... a 3 speed hub, 2 speed crank with a 150% drop,
54 t ... planetary gear low is like a 21 tooth, (but the chain doesn't move off that chainring)
so the low range uses the 3 speed a second time .. gear range 17-to 78 gear-inch .

There is a guy in Orange County who bought one of these bikes and posted photos. He sells used road bikes on Craigslist often (though I bought an old Schwinn from him), and has a blog about them, but he bought this Townie style bike and added a rear rack and wooden crate:

Here it is with the crate:
