I'm riding tomorrow. I know... it's Friday. I don't care. It's been a rough week. Anybody else want to ride? Maybe meet up for lunch? I don't care if I know you or not. Weather should be good, I need some time to think, and I'm going to be out there. Anybody interested? Details:
WHERE: Fox River trail (paved) and Prairie Path (crushed limestone), leaving Geneva, going down to Batavia, East to Wheaton, north to Elgin, then back down to Geneva.
WHEN: I'm shooting to leave Geneva around 10:00
PACE: Slow. Let me rephrase that. F'N SLOW! If you want to ride for all or part of it, I'm sure I can accommodate. It's technical a rest day in a rest week, so it will NOT be fast. I shouldn't even be riding, but riding is good for my soul.
FOOD?: I thought you'd never ask. Somewhere along the path. Subway in Wheaton? Cafe at the Riverboat? Smitty's in St. Charles? If I get really ahead of myself, I may shoot up to The Measuring Cup in Dundee. Either way, there will be a rest stop. People gotta eat.
WHO: Me. And anybody else interested. You can ride the whole ride. Or ride part. Or ride over and meet me for lunch somewhere. I'm not like Jim McMahon in the Superbowl shuffle... I ain't got no real plan.
Anybody interested would probably best respond here or shoot me a pm. If nobody else is interested... I still go.
Forgot to mention, I'll be on the cyclocross bike. For anybody who has never ridden one of these loops (tomorrow would be a good time to change that, by the way), CX bikes work great. Just about anything with a tire wider than a road tire is great (hybrid, mt bike, etc.) Although you can ride the pp on a road bike, I wouldn't suggest trying that unless you have done it before (there are a couple mush parts)
