Just bought my first bike. Went with a K2 Attack 2.0 (2005 model, although I was looking for an '04).

Haven't had the chance to do much with it yet, due to work and whatnot, but hope to soon start annoying everyone with photos and boring stories!

The front tire (at least I think it is the front tire) seems to make an odd noise, almost like a duck quacking in the distance, it is very consistent and not too loud, but I can't see anything wrong when I look down at it. Is this normal? Maybe just because it is new and getting broken in?

Other than that, everything's great! My first time to have disc breaks, so I'm having to get accustomed to stopping when I squeeze the breaks!

It sounds liek something could be rubbing as the wheel rotates. Check to see that that your QR is tight and that the wheel is centered in the dropouts. Check for misalignment on the brakes. Check for a wheel reflector that might be rubbing on the spokes as the whell turns and flexes. Have your LBS check for loose spokes or improperly tensioned ones, and also wheel trueness. Have them chec the hubs as well. I once had a new Trek with a mysterious ticking noise in the front wheel. It was a very small pit, like a manufacturing defect, on one of the front wheel bearing cones.
