Ok guys heres the thing I like in manchester uk and need a bike to go to uni which is like 4 miles away but I also like going down hills. I like the idea of a lite bike but it needs to be reliable aswell because the bike I got atm is crap the pedal keeps comming off. So yeah go find me 1 and if you can put how much it weighs and costs. Willing to spend around £300 mark at most. So far i've been looking at this

IMO, at your price range you should be looking for durability and proper fit- not weight. Add a couple grand to the price and then you can think about lightness. Just see what you can get at your LBS for your budget.

from my experience, out of the 3 things you're looking for.. its really only possible to get 2 at a time, like mike said.. try to get something reliable in your price range that fits

It's like the rule about cars: Fast, cheap, reliable. Pick any two.

For bikes, I s'pose you could say (As the above post hinted at) Light, cheap, reliable: Pick any two.

Sorry mate, no such thing as light, cheap and reliable...one HAS to give. What will that be?

For me, I spent the money to get light and reliable. All I can say is I got ALL my moneys worth! When you buy the best money can get...you will never be disappointed!
