a buddy or two of mine and i are from wisconsin. we want to do a road trip sometime this summer to colorado or a similar state- to do a week or two of snowboard and then mountain biking. we plan on renting all supplies and i was wondering if anyone knew of a good place in the state or neighboring state that had cheap fares.
we wont be doing any extreme snowboard or mountain biking, but we want to get away from it all as we live where there is no good views and all we've ever really known is cows, cheese, beer, and factories.
let me know what you guys come up with. thanks again!

A couple of suggestions... depending on how far you want to drive, consider Utah or Arizona. You can ski Brainhead and then drive up to Moab for some slick rock riding. It's a beautiful state and farely cheap to vacation in. The North Rim of the grand Canyon is also a great place to mountain bike - lots of good, cheap camp sites.
You said "summer" - you mean "spring" correct since skiing out "west" is generally over by summer.

You mentioned "cheap fares". Are you driving from Wisconsin or flying? You'll be renting boards, boots and mountain bikes, right? Do you want to camp or stay in hotels/motels? And what month(s) are you planning on traveling?
Questions, questions, questions....

First thought that came to mind is if the spring snowboarding is going to be any good, the mt. biking may not, as it may be too early in the season for the better bike trails to be open and/or not partly covered in snow.
Thus maybe snow boarding and road riding ?.
Durango ?, Taos ?, Park City ?.
