I used to ride years ago, and this Diamondback and Hoffman have been parked since I stopped. I want to get back into riding, and clean these bikes up, maybe upgrade them. Are these bikes worth messing with? If so, what should I do as far as upgrades? Do people still use front brakes and gyros? I've heard of people not using any brakes at all. Both bikes have front and rear brakes. The Hoffman has a gyro setup. Any opinions welcome, thanks.

Well if you know how to use the gyro then keep it. If not then much better braking without it you go from 6 cables to activate the rear brake to one and if you do bar spins then just make the cable long enough to say make 1-2 complete spins. Add new brake pads to rear and then see if front brake is needed. Good luck
