Anyone know of some risers where the rise is pretty quick after the stem so you can cut narrow and still leave room for grips before the bend? Cheap preferable.

You shouldnt have to go any narrower than ANY NAME BRAND riser. (kore truvativ fsa eastern and so many more).
Dont cut your bars super narrow because of looks. Cut them wide enough so you have the ability to stomp unless your ride like a little girl.

plus one on moonstomping.
Why don't you just get flat bars and a stem with more rise? or use some spacers?
then you can cut 'em as short as you please.

I went with the Origin8 "Urban Rise" bars, chopped them 2" on each side or so, just so there's enough space for grips and levers.

+1 on the Origin 8 bars. Soma Late Risers too if you prefer less rise.

i use MTB risers, then cut like 3 inches off each side. leaves enough leverage to sprint after lights, and be comfortable when i ride.
