Hi, I'm doing a bit of DIY on a folding bike and am wondering what choice there is for, most likely SS rear hub width. The narrower the better. I'm not sure if I could ride fixed. . . I'd perhaps give it a try.

Any track spaced hub will be 120mm locknut to locknut. Find something you are willing to pay for and your golden.

Ah, the rear hub is flipped to switch from fixed to free? Is that a typical design or unique to that company?

flip/flop hubs are typcal and come in a bunch of variations

i like the fix/fix combo because u can thread on a freewheel on the "fixed" side no problem. there are some track hubs that are spaced to 110mm.

No but seriously, I dont think you understand that both sides of the hub on a flip flop hub both are threaded to accept whatever you would like to put on it. There is no difference between the sides your freewheel. It has threadings on both sides where and both sides will accept a freewheel or locked cog.
If Im correct, I dont think there is a track hub out there that will not accept a freewheel. There are just some you shouldnt do that to for integrity sake.

a "free" side wont accept a track lockring. maybe a BB lockring but thats sketchy(suicide fixed) i know some people that dont really skid have no problems running a suicide fixed.
but yeah i wouldnt want to run a freewheel on a 110MM Dura Ace Track Hub. (im not even sure if there is enough space for one) i know it would fit no problem on a 120mm spaced IRO hub. but if thats what the OP needs and it works the he can freewheel that dura ace hub all night! :D its his bike and his money.
