Commuting - Ripped off!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's about time all of the Gold Coast weather forecasters were sacked. Some dropkick thought it would be fun to put out a big "storm warning" just before my ride home last evening. I was promised rain, thunder, hail, lighting and wind. What did I get? A bit of a shower coming across the Sundale Bridge, but nothing else. This is clearly a case of bait and switch advertising, which I'm led to understand is illegal in this country under the Trade Practices Act.
I feel like I've been violated.

Wait till you show up inside a prison shower in tight lycra spandex... the term violated takes on a whole new meaning...

That's actually something I'd prefer to avoid. After all, it never rains inside a prison, does it?

I am relieved nobody stole your bike, Chris. I thought that's what you meant!

You were robbed, man. I suggest opening a class-action lawsuit against the forecasters for damages. I'm sure others were disappointed, or lost money by purchasing new raingear to handle such a situation. :) :) :)
