I guess this is a general question about used bike prices -

I have a 2007 Kona Jake that I do not use that often, especially now that I am more into Road biking. It has been riden almost completely on my road work commute. Maybe 600 miles?

I want to sell it. It is in pretty good shape, a few scratches on the frame from bike racks, but nothing major. It comes with a full set of road tires/tubes and cyclocross tires/tubes. What would be a good price to sell it for? I have no idea- I would love to get $300 for it. I think I paid $800.

Suggestions on what to ask for it? Here are the specs: http://www.roadbikereview.com/mfr/ko...9_5670crx.aspx

Retail was $799 so you should be able to get $300 easily. I guess you'll be selling it on CL. I'd start with $400 and see if you get any bites.

Just curious -- why not keep it as a commuter bike?

I used to be into mountain biking - so I have always had a mt bike. Then when I wanted to commute to work via bike, I bought the Kona. I thought it would make a great commuter. It is kind of how I got hooked on road biking though. When I really started to enjoy the road, I bought a full carbon road bike. Since then my Kona has sat unused. Three bikes...too much clutter for me right now. And I could use the $300-400.......
