Sorry this is a double post from "bicycle mechanics" but just wanted it to get to more people......

Wow, this is a really weird one here......
So I just went to re-blead a set of Juicy 7 hydros and everything was fine until I gave the lever a good solid squeze and the line expoded right up by the lever, in the center of the line, not near the olive. No problem I thought, must have punctured it on something. so I fully replaced the line with BRAND NEW line, rebled the system and bingo, everything was fine. Well so I thought. I gave the lever a bunch of squeezes and started to notice that at about every 1-2 cm's or so I could notice that the fluid was starting to seep out of these tiny little holes (barely noticeable). After a bunch more squeezes, you could see little puddles forming right in the center of the line! All of the fittings are dry as a bone. The little dropplets form in the middle of the lines. It's the wildest thing. I think this is what eventually led to the smooshy rear brake in the first place and then caused it to explode.
Has anyone ever seen this?
Thanks

Matter as well start saving up for new discs. That's how mine started to croak.

Serious? What in the world is up with that??? I've never seen anything like it ever. I couldn't count on two hands how many sets of hydros I've installed and rebled! This is a first! Did your shop or Avid have an answer for this? It was a brand new line for cryin out loud!

It gets worse after this. Contact Avid they might have a fix for that.

Thanks konarider24, I will. So just to get by, can I use another type of hose? Is there much difference between different mfgr's lines? Can they be ineterchanged?

Check and see what you can get for aftermarket lines.

I've not tried them, but I've heard good things about GoodRidge (sp?) aftermarket hoses. Steel braided with a clear plastic coating. Able to bend in tight radii and crush proof.

Goodridge lines are great....but very pricey, and hard to find for the Avids. Good luck though man...
