I recently switched over to some Soma El Toro bullhorns on my Jamis Sonik (which I adore) and I want the option of mounting my aerobars (Profile Design t2+, which I also adore) when going on longer rides, etc. I currently have the aeros mounted on some drops that are 31.8 at the clamp and don't taper for a while so there is no problem at all and currently when I want to use them I just swap out the bars. I'd like to be able to put them on the El Toros, however, the El Toros are 26.0mm clamp (which I have shims for my stem that work fine) and they quickly taper to 23.8mm diameter...
So basically I need some way of either getting a shim from 23.8mm to 26.0 (the aerobars came with specific 26.0 shims that could do the rest of the work) and be double shimmed (which I really would rather not do). Or find a shim that is from 23.8 - 31.8. I've been searching around for a while now and can't really find any thing.
Anyone know a DIY solution that isnt too sketchy for shimming? Or have better google skills than I to find a 23.8-31.8 or 26 shim? Its not the end of the world if not since I only want the aerobars maybe at most once a week or so, not daily use. But it'd be nice, ya know?
