i am in need of a new rear quick release for my road bike. i have a campagnolo front, but i need a rear. seeing how much they go for on ebay, i'd rather spend some money on some newer dt swiss ones. i found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370444932148&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_916wt_907

on ebay and they look like the steel mtb ones. description says road, but i dont thin it is right. is there a difference anyways other than the handle? the size is right for my bike axles i think.
front axle width is 110mm
rear axle width is 132mm
would these work? thanks

Those are different than the RWS I have, so I'm not sure they would work. Maybe they redesigned them.
Those skewers usually cost about $50 each. You might want to check if that auction is for both skewers or just the rear skewer. The item description is not clear.
I agree the pix is ATB not road, but apart from the slightly longer rear
skewer for ATB (135mm versus 130mm for road) it should work fine,
if you don't mind the 5 mm or so longer skewer. I use a 145mm on
the rear of my tandem on a wheel that was skewerless and it works
nicely but was expensive ($50 for rear only). Mine is like the one
in the pdf for the RWS, but the changes are cosmetic in the levers.
Auction description implies offering is for pairs FR+Rear of skewers.

Not really needed for road riding. They're good for disc brake and off-road(you can really torque em down)

ok i am currently the high bidder on this one http://cgi.ebay.com/DT-SWISS-RWS-Skewer-Quick-Release-QR-Road-Bike-130-Hub-/400164179023?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d2ba4cc4f#ht_1387wt_1141
it shows both in the pic, and says in the description the dimensions for front and rear, but the title looks like a single part. if buyer confirms, i will retract bid. thanks for the heads up. i might bid on the other one then.

do you think i would be able to cut a 135mm one down to 130mm and still be functional?

Most likely, the nut on the opposite end of the lever typically has a been tapped through. Thread the nut on and then carefully saw off the excess if you want.
