I just bought a trek 8000 and it had road tires on it. I have the dirt tires but it only came with , one tube. I went to wall mart and bought a tube but the stem is old school and huge, my trek takes the small stems like new road bikes.

Is there a big store I can get a tube at, or do only bike shops sell them?

You might be able to find it at a box store but a bike store will definitely have what you're looking for.

I get my tubes at REI. The skinny valves are called Presta, fat ones are Schraeder. It should be marked on the box.

Drilling your rim is another option. Then you can use either.

well, it's too late now, but for the future, to prevent this dilemma, you can:

1 - ride tubeless! or
B - always ALWAYS keep a spare tube or two around.
