Hybrid Bicycles - Trek 7300 question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have an opportunity to purchase a barely used 2002 Trek 7300. I have ridden the bike and it appears that it was hardly if ever ridden.
What should I be careful of on a bike of that age with little to no usage, anything out of the ordinary?
What would a reasonable price be for a bike of that age in new condition?
Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

Long story short - it's worth what you are willing to pay for it. Check e-bay or craigslist for current selling prices.
I'd be concerned about integrity of tires and brake pads; and,it will surely need a thorough cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment.

I have a 7.5FX back in the states that hasn't been ridden in 6 months. I will be going home next month and I will be doing a quick clean and lube before I ride it. If I am doing that after 6 months I can't imagine what needs to be done after 8 years.

I'm thinking tires, ( cables sticky ), brakes, and would have it re-greased and tuned...Price I agree, check
craigslist, e-bay, and maybe a Trek rider might chime in....Richard
Thanks for the input. Think I will give it a shot, the price is only around 180-200 so not out too much if it doesn't work out. Seems to be functioning very well on the short ride i took on it.
