Hi,
I'm a beginner at this really. Trying to learn about wheels and hubs. Any help would be good.
I've acquired a rear wheel recently. It's a Mavic Open Pro, 32 hole, laced to a Miche Primato hub -sealed bearing.
I dont know anything about bearings, and very little about hubs.
How do I know what sort of hub this is and what cogs etc it is compatible with?

by sending pictures? Primato is Italian for the Monkey Genus?

Is it a track hub, in which it is threaded to accept a screw-on cog? Or is it a free hub, in which it has splines for a cassette to slide on?

Thanks for the response. It is a track hub I think, as it is threaded.

Just a guess, but I believe that it uses radial bearings (cartridge) that you can find fairly easily.

If it has two steps of threads, the inner, larger thread is for a track cog and the outer, smaller thread is for a lock ring. Note that the lock ring thread is left handed. If it has just one step, that's for a freewheel.

Ah yes it has two threads. For a track cog and lockring. Thanks, helpful diagram!
