Does a top pull road derailleur exist, and if not why not? My Zydeco runs the cables on the top tube and the front derailleur cable has to go around a goofy wheel fastened to the seat tube to work with the front derailleur, and I know Cinelli isn't the only company running the cables on the top tube, it seems like it would make more sense for some company to make a top pull front derailleur.

Nope.

if you run small enough rings you might be able to use a mountain one. you can hit well over 30mph with a 44:11 so you'd be fine with the smaller rings.

Would be nice - the pully is a magnet for mud and grass and can interfere with a bigger tire if you're not careful.

There's lots of things I'm hoping the growth of cross will bring. Top pull cross specific derailleurs and matched Shimano 46/36 rings are at the top of my list.

I'm alright using the goofy seat tube wheel, I just feel like there should be a top pull road derailleur available so we aren't stuck running cables on the downtube or configuring some weird setup to turn the top tube cable routing into a bottom pull.

Not so Fast! My new Blue Norcross SL has top tube cable routing and a standard SRAM Force front derailleur. Works like it was designed that way.

How? It came with an add-on lever by Speen Umlenker. You can order these direct from Germany, they'll ship to the US and accept paypal.

Thanks I don't know that I need one but that is a really cool solution to the issue.
