Hello guys.

I am buying a new road bike and we hear of people talking about weight, etc. While I can find the amound components weight (i.e. wheels are 1710 grams a set, etc.) I can not find any information on how much a particular frame weighs. The bike I am getting is a Trek 2100 and Trek will not release weight numbers on the frame. Can it be weighted or how do I get this info. Thanks again.

Weight depends on the size of the bike(and other things). The best thing is to go into the shop and ask them to weigh it, the whole bike.
Wait, the best thing is to get a bike you like and ride it and not worry to much about how much it weighs.

You may try looking at Weight Weenies (http://weightweenies.starbike.com/listings/components.php?type=roadframes) for weight information. If you can't find the frame or size listed, you could try asking in the forums how much a particular component weighs.

I just want to have a good idea on what the bike weighs. While the weight is not the most important thing (i.e. going with race x lite areos instead of the regular race x lites which are 200 grams lighter for the same price) compared to strength and longevity I would like to know where the weight of the bike is and where I can eliminate weight to change things.

And the fame I am using weighs 1450 grams with no headset...
