Hi guys, sorry if similar threads get posted like this alot.

I recently ruined the crank on my 8 year old Saracen tuff trax bike. I was going to get new suspension forks on it anyway + needing a new crank + the brakes are knackered I thought I'd treat myself to a new bike.

Im looking for a complete bike hardtail £500-600 with a decent light frame and good front suspension forks standard as I dont want to upgrade.

Been looking on the Evans cycles website (im from uk) and heres a few bike I like

Pinnacle evolution 1.0
Specialized Rockhopper
GT Avalanche 1.0 disc
Fuji Tahoe comp
Trek 4500 disc
Scott aspect 20

Can anyone advise on these bikes or any others that they feel are good? Are there any online bike shops in the UK that I should check out?

Cheers
James

Hi James,

I took a look at the bikes you mentioned and it's not an easy decision to make :)
If you compare the specs, probably the GT Avalanche is your best bet, though the other bikes have quite similar setups - all have forks with 100mm travel, hydraulic disc brakes etc. What I would suggest you to do is to go to a store and sign up for a test ride. Bike geometries can be really different, you should go to a store and take them out for a quick spin to see which feels the best, the most comfortable. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
