Is this normal for an Ultegra chainring with only 160 miles on it? I notice some of the teeth are flattened at the top while others come to a point. Is this due to machining at the factory or is this caused by the chain on the bike? I would not expect to see this after only 160 miles.

They are made that way.
The different cuts in the teeth aid in shifting rings.

Yeah, I looked at some images online and I see they all look like that. Must be the machining at the factory, thanks. By the way Fred did we see you riding Northbound on 518 yesterday at around 6:20PM? Drove past a guy on a yellow bike that looked like you.

I noticed that on a mountain bike I got. I thought someone have been scraping over curbs or rocks.

Then, I actually bought a replacement, only to find that it was the same. :lol:

I learn a lot off stuff the hard or expensive way. :twitchy:

yes, but it is hardly surprising. It's one of those things that, if you didn't know the reasoning behind it, it just looks WRONG.
